What We Believe
Our Shared Statement of Faith
What We Believe
What we believe concerning God
We believe that there is one sovereign God, who eternally exists in three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that that God is the righteous creator of both Heaven and Earth. Each member of the Trinity carries a different function, but appropriately receives the same worship, honor, and praise. The Bible is the written word of God and that it is to govern the lives of His people. We believe, “long ago God spoke to the fathers by the prophets at different times and in different ways. In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son. God appointed Him heir of all things and made the universe through Him (Hebrews 1:1-2 HCSB).” We believe that God presently operates in the life of every believer through the presence of the Holy Spirit. We also believe in the eminent return of Jesus Christ and his reign over all the Father’s creation.
What we believe concerning Humanity
We believe that every human is made in the image of God and for the glory of God. We believe in the fall of mankind and the world’s need for redemption. We believe that God extends salvation to everyone. “There is no favoritism with God (Romans 2:11 HCSB).”
What we believe concerning the Church
We believe the church is the visible representation of the Gospel in the world. The church should operate with the highest level of integrity and commitment to Christ. The church is responsible for carrying the gospel message to the nations.
What we believe concerning Salvation
We believe that God created the world to worship him. This involves love and obedience.
Because of sin, humanity failed at this responsibility and now stands under the wrath of God. “As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one (Romans 3:10).” Yet God was not content to allow mankind to perish. We believe, “for God loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16 HCSB).” God sent Jesus as a substitute for those who were under the penalty of sin. Jesus lived, suffered, died, and was raised on the third day. The resurrection proves that only his sacrifice is sufficient for sin. We believe that any person who personally places saving faith in the work of Christ, shall be saved.
